There is no surprise that showrunners of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 keep teasing its fans as they failed to announce a release date yet again. However, they seemed to think that non-announcement of the release date can be compensated by releasing a new intro to the popular sci-fi comedy cartoon.

The new intro of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 is an 8-bit intro adaptation of Harmon and Justin Roiland's adult series by Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon that went live on Adult Swim's Facebook page and also on its Youtube account. This style of art, called pixel art, has long since been made outdated by improved graphics rendering capabilities since games of "Pacman" and "Bomber Man" reigned, as reported by The Creators Project.

"Rick and Morty is awesome! It's one of my favorite shows. We just tried to cram in as many of our favorite characters and references as possible while keeping the timing of the original the same," Robertson gushed.

Robertson has years of experience in translating the GIF format and 8-bit aesthetic from Web 1.0 to 2.0 before sharing his expertise to "Rick and Morty" Season 3 animated project. Robertson's team has reportedly spent a month and a half using digital software to build sprites, the moveable images seen in the video and then animating them in the program Autodesk Animator.

However, some of the audience in the comment section of Adult Swim's YouTube and Facebook pages pointed out that the animation style in the new intro of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 is definitely not 8-Bit, but at least 16 or even 32 bit. Meanwhile, due to the different style of animation used for the intro, speculations surfaced that there might be an 8-bit episode of "Rick and Morty" Season 3, according to The Creators Project.

On the issue of the still nonexistent release date of "Rick and Morty" Season 3, the March release is still the best bet of the fans. The only worthy sneak peak proved was when the production team released a teaser trailer, but the animation is rough and unfinished and was not even colored yet at the time of the release. As months passed by, it seems that Mr. Poopybutthole's prediction of a long wait before the Season 3 premiere was destined to come true after all.
