Chris Pine Splits From His Relationship With Model Girlfriend Dominique Piek
Chris Pine's relationship with model, Dominique Pike has come to an end.
Pine announced their split earlier this week at CinemaCon but declined to make any further comment, according to the Huffington Post.
The couple "made their red carpet debut" at the Cannes Films Festival in May of 2012, according to US Weekly. That means that they must have been together for almost a year before the split.
Sources spoke to US Weekly about the break-up. "It happened a while ago," a source said. And another insider commented saying, "It was a mutual call. They both needed their space. She has been very busy with her modeling work and traveling. He's got Star Trek and his other projects keeping him busy."
One source addressed the fact that romance can sometimes be difficult in the world of celebrities. "It's hard for two people at their age and on their level. They'll both be just fine, though," the source told US Weekly.
What does the future have in store for the "Star Trek" actor?
According to Men's Health U.K. last year Pine has said, "I do like dating cynics, they tend to be incredibly funny. Dating someone on the opposite end of the happy spectrum teaches you an incredible amount of patience."
"Perhaps we should be on the lookout for one of Hollywood's sarcastic sirens," wrote the International Design Times.
Pine will probably continue moving forward with a positive despite the break-up. In the same interview last year with Men's Health U.K. he told the magazine, "there are going to be good times and bad times, but lighten up. After many years of not having done that, I've found it's an important lesson."
At this year's CinemaCon, Pine explained what he looks for in a girl. "Nothing new here... Intelligence, beauty. A good woman, I guess," he said, according to the Huffington Post.
