'The Division' Patch 1.6 News: PTS Roll Out For PC On Jan. 24; Bigger Dark Zone Expected

Gamers rejoice! Ubisoft has announced that the latest patch of Tom Clancy's "The Division" will feature  the biggest changes in the game since March of last year. The studio outlined tons of surprises for Patch 1.6.

According to the Ubisoft blog, some of the things to watch out for are new spaces that will be opened up in the PvP and PvE Dark Zone expanding the area to include Dark Zones 7,8 and 9. Players will be glad to know that these new areas are even bigger than the current Dark Zone and fraught with even more danger and surprises.

As an added incentive, players will also get rewards in the form of loot that will be credited to their inventory automatically after clearing a landmark. This does away with the hassle of having to remove the loot physically as the game typically requires them to do. But of course, with more incentives come more challenges as clearing landmarks become even more dangerous as the player advances to the northern sections of the map.

Ubisoft has also added Contamination Events will also become available which tests the players' ability to manage their health to stand against their opponents.

Meanwhile, a report from Gamespot indicated that Ubisoft is set to roll out Patch 1.6 on its public test server  on January 24, at 3 AM PT. However, the patch will initially be for PC players only.

According to the report, Ubisoft has been working hard to make the patch available to console users but it will not be possible for a while yet.

Among other items included in the patch notes are a Legendary difficulty setting, exotic items and new gear, changes to previous gear sets, tweak to armor and health balance, skill balance changes, decrease in hip fire stability and unlimited weapons calibration, Polygon reported.

The patch will be available to players across platforms once the PTS period is done and it will be a free update, and definitely not the last, according to the studio.
