Kids' Choice Awards 2017: DC, Marvel, Star Wars Franchises Lead Nominees For Film, TV

Nickelodeon has just announced the list of nominees for the 2017 Kids' Choice Awards and the competition is fierce across all 28 categories ranging from television shows, movies, music, and trends. This year's host will be WWE superstar John Cena who will lead the sliming party at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on March 11.

According to a report by E! News Leading the nominees for favorite Kids' Show are Nickelodeon shows Game Shakers, Henry Danger, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, The Thundermans and Disney's Girl Meets World.

For the Favorite TV Show Family Category, comedies like Big Bang Theory, Black-ish and Fuller House duke it out with superhero shows like Fox's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The CW's DC shows like Supergirl and The Flash.

It's a mix of old and new for the Favorite Reality Show category as America's Funniest Home Videos, America's Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, Paradise Run, Shark Tank and The Voice made it to the shortlist.

The Favorite Movie category is also stacked DC's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Marvel's Captain America: Civil War, the Ghostbusters reboot, Disney's Pete's Dragon, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

The nominees for Favorite Movie Actor also came from these films -- Ben Affleck, Will Arnett, Henry Cavill, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.

For Favorite Movie Actress, Amy Adams, Megan Fox, Scarlett Johansson, Felicity Jones, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig will compete for top honors.

Another category that is being closely watched is the Favorite Video Game category with its nominees --  Just Dance 2017, Lego Marvel's Avengers, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Minecraft: Story Mode, Paper Mario: Color Splash and Pokémon Moon.

An article posted by WWG observed that while there are more popular games in the market today like Witcher 3 and Uncharted 4, those that made it to the list are mainly those that are of the kid-friendly variety.

Voting will be open on Nickelodeon's digital platforms like Nick.com and the Nick app. Votes using special hashtags will also make up a portion of the tally through Twitter and Facebook.
