Daemerys Targaryen and Jon Snow are bound to meet when "Game of Thrones" returns for its seventh season on HBO. This early, fans are already shipping the Mother of Dragons and the King of the North to get together. However, despite their fervent hopes, there are certain things that will prevent this from happening.

It can be recalled in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 that the truth behind Jon Snow's parentage was revealed. It was finally confirmed that Jon wasn't the bastard son of Ned Stark but was in fact the son of his sister Lyanna Stark. It was unclear who his father was and it is believed that it could be Rhaegar Targaryen, the eldest son of the Mad King Aerys II.

Fans of the book and television franchise of "Game of Thrones" have long harbored the R + L = J theory, which states that Rhaegar and Lyanna's secret relationship led to the birth of Jon Snow, who was raised by Ned as his own in Winterfell. The post at Popsugar  mostly agreed that if this will be confirmed by the show, Daenerys would be directly related to Jon by blood as his aunt since she is the younger sister of Rhaegar.

Still, there is hope that a Daenerys and Jon Snow union could happen if "Game of Thrones" decides to make another character Jon's father. After all, it isn't too late to change course since the show has not revealed Jon's sire yet. The books have also not confirmed the R + L = J theory.

Whether or not the show gives in to fans' clamor, Jon and Daenerys will indeed meet at some point in the season, most likely to form an alliance to go against Queen Cersei, who now rules over King's Landing. Leaked photos of the two characters together on set have fueled rumors of the much anticipated meeting, according to Bustle.

The report hinted that the meeting in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 could happen with the help of common friends. Tyrion is now the adviser of the Mother of Dragons and Theon has joined Yara to pledge their allegiance to Daenerys so it will not be impossible to broker an alliance between the two powerful forces of the Northerners and Dany's combined Dothraki and Unsullied fleet.

It is also possible that Jon will ask Daenerys for help in fighting the Whitewalkers given that he has limited resources to counter the attack of the powerful army from beyond the Wall. It could also be Dany who seeks out Jon to help her take down their common enemy, Cersei Lannister. As the romance between the two characters is still a long shot from happening, it would be a good consolation for fans to learn that they may be fighting on the same side.
