Elon Musk Gets Boring: Pit Allegedly A Fallout Shelter

The Tesla and SpaceX chief has already started digging a tunnel in Los Angeles, California. As of press time, the pit has a depth of 15 feet with a width of 50 feet or so. It is located in a parking lot at Crenshaw Boulevard and West 120th Street. This is not so far from the fallout shelter that the tunnel will supposedly turn out to be.

Yes, Elon Musk is believed by some to be digging a fallout shelter instead of a tunnel. This project was one of the Tesla chair's spur-of-the-moment project. It began when he got stuck in traffic one Saturday morning in December.

He began complaining on Twitter about the traffic situation. Elon Musk then declared that he will create a company to start a company specifically for it. He christened it "The Boring Company", according to Bloomberg. People have been doubting though that this particular project has another motive other than just a solution for the traffic problem. Some people think that it is just a cover for what would be a fallout shelter.

Those who are familiar with Elon Musk would know that he is a kind of eccentric person. The financial website shared that he has a tendency to pull the legs of people with his declarations. So perhaps a fallout shelter is not a far-fetched thing for the SpaceX founder, as BGR believes.

The website views the traffic management project to be a front. They point to the location-having it in the vicinity of SpaceX makes it easier for him to acquire permits. Although once he gets to the boundaries of his properties, he will have to get more permits from city officials. Additionally, he will need to steer clear of other subterranean edifices.

Another thing in contention was the timing of the project. Elon Musk's SpaceX has been getting ready for a big year of spacecraft launches. On the other hand, "The Boring Company" started last December 2016. All these coincide with Donald Trump potentially winning the presidency. And he did win it so the tunnel slash fallout shelter is just Musk looking ahead to the future.
