'The Bachelorette' 2017 Casts The First Black Contestant Creating A Huge Controversy

ABC made a remarkable move after casting the first back contestant for "The Bachelorette" 2017. A Texas attorney, Rachel Lindsey made history as she was the first black contestant for the reality TV show after 33 combined season of both "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette."

BBC previously announced that Rachel Lindsey, who was announced as the next "Bachelorette" was from the previous episode of Nick Viall's "The Bachelor." Though the next " The Bachelorette" 2017 contestant is usually revealed by ABC after the previous season would end, but they seemed to make an early announcement of the next season.

ABC finally broke the stigma as the network was caught in a controversy as some viewers raised their concerns after stating that they never seem to cast back contestants except in the upcoming "The Bachelorette" 2017. Channing Dungey stated, ABC Entertainment Group president stood up to that the network is open to casting diverse candidates to reach deeper heights in terms of their market.

"It's worked very well for us because the audiences feel really engaged [in choosing] that candidate," Channing Dungey started in an interview explain about "The Bachelorette" 2017. "What we'd like to do is broaden that. We need to increase the pool of diverse candidates in the beginning. That is something we really want to put some effort and energy toward."

Though the majority of the viewers were filled with excitement upon hearing the network's diversity, Trip Media mentioned that there are those who were not that exited upon hearing the news. There are some who vented out their disbelief stating that Rachel Lindsey's "The Bachelorette" 2017 will be losing viewers.

Upcoming "The Bachelorette" 2017 on the other hand, Rachel Lindsey opened up to people as she reveals that she is nervous for the upcoming season. She then pointed out that her quest to find love isn't any different just because her skin color is.
