The 26-year-old Emma Watson commonly remembered as Hermione Granger from the "Harry Potter" series is currently playing the character of Belle in the upcoming remake of the animated Disney film "Beauty and The Beast". The live-action Disney princess claims that story of "Beauty and the Beast" is not about Stockholm syndrome.

The story shares the idea about the Stockholm syndrome by portraying an intimidating beast who imprisons a young girl inside isolated boundaries until they fall in love. Watson, who is closely associated with the Disney live-action film "Beauty And The Beast" denies about the uncomfortable Stockholm syndrome which is believed to create the romantic dynamic conditions between the two characters, beauty, and beast.

According to Vulture, Watson stated that Stockholm syndrome is a condition where a prisoner takes on the characteristics of and falls in love with the captor. She further added saying that Belle does not possess any characteristics of Stockholm syndrome as she constantly argues and disagrees with the beast. This is due to the independence Belle carries along with the freedom of thought.

Watson being a part of the motion picture intends on portraying the character of Belle, where she is more independent and holds a fighting spirit against her captor the beast. According to the live-action Disney princess, Belle would give her Captor a time of hell by giving him back as good as she gets rather than just being passive, as per Uproxx.

The actress also stated that the beautiful thing about the love story in "Beauty And The Beast" is that the two do not just fall in love at the first sight which is usually seen in any other love story. Instead, they form a friendship, that leads to trust and other genuine sharing ultimately builds the love between the two which is more meaningful, she added.
