OnePlus 5 Specs, Release Date: Flagship Killer Set to Compete in 2017

OnePlus series has become so popular and now competes with other highly-competitive smartphones like Samsung, and iPhones. And now, the much-awaited "flagship killer" popularly known as "OnePlus 5" is making a huge hype this 2017. Here's the details, what's coming out on its release date, specs and more.

In a previous report, the company is skipping the numeric 4 since it is an unlucky number in Chinese practices. Some Chinese phone companies may however still use the numeric 4 on their phone name, the company who owns other smartphones like Oppo and Vivo have also followed the same belief when Vivo 5 emerged after Vivo 3 was released.

Carl Pei, the company's CEO, has announced previously that the "flagship killer" OnePlus 5, will be coming with an AMOLED display. According to PCAdvisor, the OnePlus 5 is also expected to have a 5.5-inch unit with Quad-HD resolution, waterproof body and has a dual camera too.

Essentially, the company will introduce OnePlus 5's screen to a curve one, making it the first in the OnePlus lineup. Moreover, just like the OnePlus 3, OnePlus 5 will also have its specs for mobile VR.

The OnePlus 5 might be having a 64GB and more likely a 6GB to 8GB RAM just like the OnePlus 3T. The same report claims the OnePlus 5's processor will be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and will be coming out with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with oxygen OS on its top.

Meanwhile, a lot of reports coming out of the official launching and released of the OnePlus 5. However, based on the previous released of OnePlus other models, OnePlus 5 might be possibly coming out around the second quarter of 2017. This would also give OnePlus a chance of not clashing with other big releases of Samsung, HTC, LG and other smartphones, which likely releases their newest sometime in the first quarter of the year, knowyourmobile added.

Lastly, the pricing of the OnePlus 5 is said to be around $400 to $499. However, the company has not released any confirmation as of yet. Until then, the OnePlus has grown immensely providing Android users with below the usual price bracket of known to be "flagship killers."
