The gaming masterpiece "Injustice 2" gets a brand new comic series. Tom Taylor, who also worked on most of the "Injustice: Gods Among Us" comic series previously, will take the helm for this project.

The writer, Tom Taylor, announced this development at the 2016 Comic-Con. He revealed to GameSpot that the new comic series is set in between "Injustice 2" and the original game. He also mentioned that the new story will pick up from the time when Superman was chucked into jail. However, a new threat looms and Batman is the only one trying to put all the pieces back together.

Fortunately, the Caped Crusader will not be alone in battling the new threats to the world in the new "Injustice 2" comic series. Harley Quinn will remain an ally and will be giving him a helping hand. And though it is not yet clear how, Black Canary and Blue Beetle will also play a big part. Tom Taylor also reminded everyone that there are still a plethora of characters that have not made it into the game or even in the original comics. But fans can look forward to seeing the Suicide Squad again. This time, though, the group will be larger and they will be a bigger force to reckon with.

Aside from Batman tackling messy businesses, the upcoming "Injustice 2" coming will also give readers a look into the story of Supergirl. Tom Taylor and his team will reveal her roots, her past and other nitty-gritty details about Superman's female counterpart. This information also shows that female characters will also be in the center stage, WWG wrote.

The "Injustice 2" comic, written by Tom Taylor, will be first released digitally in April while the print version will go on sale in May. Meanwhile, the game will arrive for consoles on May 16.
