New Mazda CX-5 Review: A Great Overall Crossover With Tempting Price

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 made its debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is a compact crossover available in front wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. The new Mazda CX-5 includes active safety features, leather upholstery and an active driving display.

In 2012, Mazda CX-5 was the first model to combine company's Kodo Design Language and Skyactiv Technology. The crossover soon became one of the best-selling models from Mazda with global sales of over 1.4 million units. The second generation 2017 Mazda CX-5 has its design based on the Mazda CX-9 and Mazda3, reported Motor Trend.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 has sleeker headlights, a large grill on the front and slimmer taillights which add a vivid look to the vehicle. The car comes with improved noise levels, improved steering turn-in and carries the company's signature "Soul Red" paint.

The engine of 2017 Mazda CX-5 has been revised and the car provides a snappier throttle response. The two engine configurations are a 2.0-liter and a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine and a revised 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D diesel turbo engine. The diesel engine pumps 173 horsepower at 4500 rpm and it is mated to a 6-speed auto gearbox.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 has one of the best performing chassis in its class thanks to Mazda's G-Vectoring Control, reported Forbes. This GVC monitors vehicle's speed, position of throttle and rate of steering wheel rotation.

Talking about the safety, the new 2017 Mazda CX-5 has an updated Mazda i-Activsense package that includes automatic braking, lane departure warning, radar-based adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and lane-keep assist. In addition, Mazda has also included Driver Attention Alert and active LED headlights for the driver's safety.

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is stylish both indoors and outdoors and the cabin is spacious and elegant looking. The pricing for the 2017 Mazda CX-5 starts at $30900 which is same as that of the outgoing model. The crossover is a complete package with great handling, comfort and refinement and good interior quality.
