‘Fate and the Furious’ Upcoming Trailer to Focus on New Partnerships

Universal's "Fate and the Furious" is likely to pull up all the stops in its last trailer before the official release of the film. Scheduled to come out this week, the newest trailer may give a better picture on the new team-ups that will happen on "Fate and the Furious".

News of the new trailer coming out was seen on a tweet from Mumbai-based The House of Mirabella. According to Screen Rant, the establishment stated that the trailer for "Fate and the Furious" would play on March 9, 8:30 PM Mumbai time. Given the time zones, it would be around 10:30 am EST in the U.S.

As seen on the previous trailers and materials for "Fate and the Furious," Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto has turned against his so-called family to work with Cipher, the movie's main baddie played by Charlize Theron. In the upcoming trailer, Polygon speculates that it will show the new working partnership between Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson's Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw, who played as the antagonist in "Furious 7." It could also give way for Helen Mirren, who takes the role of Shaw's mother, and show where her allegiance would be in "Fate and the Furious".

Plans for an eighth entry in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise became unclear with the sudden death of Paul Walker in 2013 while working on "Furious 7." However, Diesel pushed through with the eighth installment, stating that Walker had guaranteed that it would happen. Diesel then added that if "Furious 7" was dedicated for Paul, then "Fate and the Furious" is a gift from Paul.

"Fate and the Furious" could also mean more screen time for Lucas Black's Sean Boswell, who was first seen in "Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift." While he was only given a single scene in the last film, it would be nice to have him race with the crew.

"Fate and the Furious" races to theatres in April 2017.
