'Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Dropped Wii Gamepad Support And it's Because Of Switch

A good game has a good gameplay, and "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" co-creator agrees with that principle. To make a better game experience for the users, the game has been stripped out of GamePad second-screen support for Wii U. It turns out that this feature stripping decision from Nintendo might not be a disappointment at all.

Switch is actually the one to blame for this. According to IGN, game director Hidemaro Fujibayashi stated that Nintendo wanted "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" players to have the same gameplay experience across the Switch and Wii U. This move is said to be agreed wholeheartedly by the team.

"In doing our testing without the touch features we noticed looking back and forth between the Gamepad and the screen actually took a little something away from this type of Zelda game," he said.

It can be remembered that as early as 2014, there is a video released with creator Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma. The duo is playing an early version of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on Wii U GamePad. The demo features a touchscreen support. And because of this, it is expected by a lot of people that there will be a touchscreen support for the game on Wii U.

After the removal of the touch screen feature, the game has resulted in "a really strong gameplay experience. But according to Polygon, it is predictable why third-party publishers weren't enthusiastic about the platform. The touchscreen Gamepad is one of Wii U's important features and it wasn't featured on major games like "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is not really a very attractive aspect at the first glance.

"Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has received great reviews since the launching date. Trusted reviews gave the game a perfect 10/10 score while both GamesRadar and Expert Reviews gave it 5/5.
