‘Mr. Robot’ Season 3 News & Update: Hacking Series Returns October, Bobby Cannavale Joins Cast

The USA Network announced through the series' official Twitter account that "Mr. Robot" Season 3 will air in October instead of in the summer. In addition to the premiere date being pushed back, it was also revealed that Bobby Cannavale will join the cast.

The freshman and sophomore seasons of Sam Esmail's thrilling hacking series aired in July. So it was expected that the third season will also return to TV screens at the time. However, the USA Network decided to delay its airing to autumn. As to why decided to premiere "Mr. Robot" Season 3 at a later time, the network did not give any reason, Den of Geek! wrote. Furthermore, they gave no exact date for the return of Sam Esmail's thrilling hacker series. Yet despite the scant details for Elliot Anderson's return, fans of the show can look forward to Bobby Cannavale debuting in the third season.

Bobby Cannavale's character in "Mr. Robot" Season 3 is named Irving. The used-car salesman is described as a serious-minded person and a man of few words. Aside from him, BD Wong will also return for not just as a guest star but as a series regular, Independent shared. His character, Whiterose, is the head of the Chinese hacking organization called the Dark Army. With regards to their addition to the show, Jeff Wachtel of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment said that they make the cast of actors a stronger one.

Showrunner and creator Sam Esmail is also slated to work closely with the cast, such as Bobby Cannavale. In addition to his two roles, he will also direct all ten episodes of "Mr. Robot" Season 3. President of Entertainment Networks for NBCUniversal Chris McCumber commented that Esmail is a visionary unafraid to tackle head-on the issues of today. McCumber also added that they are eager to show the next phase of Elliot and crew's struggles with and in society.
