Sony PlayStation 4 received a major update last month that brought several new features that were awaited by gamers from a long time. However, in addition to features, it seems that new update for PS4 has brought along several issues that are bugging gamers.

Sony PlayStation 4 update brought major additions - support for external hard disks and Boost mode in the 4.50 update. Apart from the features, it seems the new update is bugging PS4 users as it has introduced connectivity issues with Wi-Fi. After updating the console, users are complaining that their Wi-Fi is not functioning at all on PlayStation Forums, reported Polygon.

A user wrote that his PS4 could not connect to Wi-Fi after installing the update. He also quoted the error code - "NW-31297-2" . He also added that other devices in his house are able to connect to the same Wi-Fi network without any issues. There are around 250 posts on the Sony PlayStation Forum now from the people who are running into the same issue.

There is much anger in the PlayStation Forums as the update was meant to add features and bring new modes but it destroyed the core functionality of the PlayStation 4, reported Engadget. This has a serious impact as gamers are unable to connect their consoles to Wi-Fi and play games online. Moreover, troubleshooting tips from Sony are not helping either.

Sony has acknowledged the issue but is to provide a solution for the problem. "We are aware and are looking into the situation," a Sony spokesperson said via an email. Meanwhile, gamers are using workaround methods to keep their PS4 connected to the internet. One such gamer went so far and spent $30 on a Wi-Fi extender with an Ethernet port so he could keep using his PlayStation 4.

Sony is expected to release a fix soon to resolve the issue. It might also provide a compensation to the users of the PlayStation 4 for the issue that has affected many. Stay tuned for more updates on the issue.
