‘Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry’ News: Feature Film's English-Subbed Trailer Released
The first full trailer for the feature film "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" was released last week, but it was only in Japanese. Fortunately, international film distributor Madman Entertainment recently released an English-subbed trailer for the upcoming anime movie, much to fans' delight.
Crunchyroll shared the subtitled trailer for "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry," the second feature-length film for the Hiro Mashima creation. Just judging from the looks of it, the movie is sure to have a lot of swashbuckling battle scenes featuring Natsu Dragneel and other Fairy Tail mages. Taking into account the information from the subtitles, the Natsu and his trustworthy friends will be fighting fiends who want to use a dragon artifact for their own gains.
Backtracking a bit, the "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" trailer speaks of a powerful artifact that has the ability to destroy the world. It lay within the depths of the Grave of Dragons, the final resting place of the defeated ancient flying reptiles. However, it was stolen by Zash Caine (Jiro Saito). The thief then brought it into the domain of King Animus (Makoto Furukawa), who rules the land of Stella with the help of his mage, Sonya (Aoi Yuki). That is the event that led the Fairy Tail mages to embark on this dangerous mission, one that could possibly corrupt Natsu Dragneel.
The trailer for "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" also revealed that creator Mashima is heavily involved in the making of the film. In fact, he serves as an executive producer on top of drawing more than 190 storyboards, according to Comic Book. Furthermore, he also drew a visual of a fired-up Natsu with one dragon wing sprouting from his back.
The "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry" trailer showed that fans will see the Natsu with the dragon wings in the movie. He even asks his friend and fellow Fairy Tail mage Lucy how he looks. That could be the point of no return for the child the dragon Igneel raised, but people will know when the film hits theaters in Japan on May 5.
