Chris Evans Forgives Tom Brady For Supporting Donald Trump: 'He Gets A Pass' Says Actor

Chris Evans might go down hard on many celebrities for siding with President Donald Trump. But he has decided that Tom Brady is the only individual who "gets a pass" for doing the same.

Evans has never made a secret of the fact that he adores New England Patriots and has a special spot for Brady. At the same time, the "Captain America" actor's hatred for Trump is clearly displayed on his Twitter page for everyone to see. Only, his fans never expected that his loathing towards the current POTUS would take a backseat when it comes to the world-renowned quarterback.

When asked about his political opinions, Evans told USA Today that the only one towards whom his views haven't changed is Brady, despite the fact that Trump himself called him his biggest supporter last year. The "Captain America" actor also had a simple explanation as to why his favorite quarterback gets to be the only one who gets a "pass" for supporting the Republican candidate in the 2016 US Elections.

"I'm just going out of my way to give Tom Brady a pass," Evans said. "He gave me five rings. What am I supposed to do? He gets a pass."

The above statement is especially surprising, coming from Evans because he was the one who has called Trump a "hatemonger" and a "bully" in his tweets, even terming the Election night, "an embarrassing night for America." However, the "Captain America" actor further clarified his stance by saying that while he might have some pretty strong political opinions, he does not make an "enemy" out of everyone who differs from him politically.

All that being said, when it comes to Brady, Evans' admiration knows no bounds. He even admitted to Jimmy Kimmel on the latter's talk show that he does not even want to meet the legendary quarterback in person, lest it breaks the imaginary pedestal he holds him to, The Wrap reported.

Although Evans has never had a face-to-face with Brady, he has attended a number of his games. One such game was the New England Patriots versus the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl. His ecstatic reaction to the quarterback's comeback win can be seen in a video below.
