Josh Brolin confirmed on social media that pre-production for "Deadpool 2" has started. The actor shared a couple of behind-the-scenes photos in his preparation as Cable.

Brolin took to his Instagram page to share a photo of himself with blue gunk all over his face. The actor has face cast, which is needed for his role as Cable in "Deadpool 2." According to Mail Online, Brolin had his face cast for Cable's trademark scarred face.

The actor wrote the caption, "You know, just meditating" along with the hashtags #Deadpool2, #clostraphobiarocks, #umguys and #ryanreyondsismyb***h. Brolin also shared another behind-the-scenes photo and this time his face is completely covered in white plaster. He captioned the shot, "Oh, you thought the other one was gnarly."

Brolin’s behind-the-scenes photos came after Ryan Reynolds confirmed he plays Cable in “Deadpool 2.” The actor, who plays the titular character, took to his Instagram to tease Brolin about having two different roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Viewers may remember that Brolin portrayed the Mad Titan Thanos in “Guardians of the Galaxy” and now he plays Cable in the “Deadpool” sequel.

However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has no problems with Brolin taking on an additional role in the MCU. In fact, he thought the actor would make a great Cable as much as he is playing Thanos. According to Comicbook, Feige opened up about Cable's casting in "Deadpool 2" during an Open House event at Marvel Studios. "I think he'll make one hell of a Cable," Feige said.

Likewise, Feige assured that Brolin's time as Cable in "Deadpool 2" and Thanos do not clash. He revealed that the "Old Boy" star already filmed "a good bit" of his scenes in "Avengers: Infinity War." This means Brolin has enough time to focus on being Cable when production for the sequel officially begins in Vancouver in June.
