The royals are fond of horses. In fact, Prince William and Prince Harry regularly compete in polo matches and the Queen is still riding at 91. Have you wondered why Kate Middleton is not seen riding a horse? Learn the reason here.

Kate Middleton attends racing events like Ascot, but the Duchess of Cambridge is never seen hopping into the saddle. There are rumors that she's allergic to horses. However, according to Marcia Muddy, author of "Kate: A Biography," the hobby is simply not in her blood, Daily Mail reported.

"Kate doesn't ride, purely because she didn't do it growing up," Marcia Moody told Town & Country. "William and Harry were taught from an early age, but the only time they ride now is for polo - they don't go off on hacks like the queen always has."

Although Kate Middleton does not have the passion for riding horses, she's giving her brood the chance to enjoy it. In fact, in October, the Duchess of Cambridge spoke with equestrian triple-gold medalist Natasha Baker at a reception at Buckingham Palace and hinted that her daughter may eventually follow the profession of her Aunt Zara all the way to the Olympics.

"I asked her how the children were, and she said Charlotte is really enjoying her riding which is great to hear, and I said we may see her here on a line-up in 20 years time," said Baker. "She emphasised that Charlotte has this passion about horses and although she doesn't echo it, she'll do her best to champion and encourage it."

Meanwhile, Prince George is into horses too. Kate Middleton and Prince William were reportedly keen on having their little one ride a horse when he started walking. Prince Charlotte's brother reportedly loved his first ride where he shrieked with delight and his parents were there to witness it.
