Fans have yet to see "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" in theaters to judge whether it is better than the first film. However, actor Chris Sullivan assured that the sequel outshines the original movie. Chris Pratt also talked highly about Marvel films compared to DC movies.

Sullivan, who plays the loud and ruthless Taserface, only had praises for the sequel. He talked highly of the film when asked to compare it to the first. Sullivan said that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is "better" than the original. "

Sullivan then explained why he thinks "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" outdoes the original. He said the sequel is "more fleshed out, just simply by the fact there was a first one." Speaking of the characters, Sullivan said there is no need to establish their importance in the story. This means the film gets to "jump right into the storylines of the main characters at a deeper level."

However, the actor pointed out that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is on par with the first film in terms of humor. "It's equally funny, equally as full of amazing music, and, of course, that cast --- the Guardians of the Galaxy are pretty hard to match," Sullivan told Cinema Blend.

Sullivan's statement came after co-star Chris Pratt talked highly about Marvel movies. Pratt, who plays Star- Lord in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," talked specifically about "Suicide Squad." He compared how the DC film rapidly introduced so many characters in one film, instead of doing it gradually. "They spent 10 minutes telling us why should we care about these characters, rather than creating trilogies for each character and convincing us to care about the characters," Pratt told Gizmodo.

Pratt emphasized that gradual growth builds a strong superhero movie that hooks the audience. In the case of his film, new characters are added in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" instead of piling them up in the first film. The same goes for the creation of The Avengers, which Marvel tested out first with the introduction of Iron Man before they included Thor, Hulk and so on.
