OnePlus 5, dubbed the flagship killer, is said to be hitting the market this summer, 2017. The beast was leaked to run loose with an 8 GB RAM and other things.

The "Flagship Killer" OnePlus 5 is expected to come with a beastly 8 GB of RAM. The report was said to be confirmed exclusively to The Verge. OnePlus 5 is OnePlus' next flagship, following the successful OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T which was released last year. So far, this specs is the only known detail about the phone as of the writing. The specs are expected to be better than it's predecessors.

If there is something more interesting than OnePlus 5's specs, that would be the phone's name itself. The naming inconsistency (the company skipped OnePlus 4) was rumored to be because of how unlucky number "4" is according to the Chinese Tradition. But OnePlus says that the OnePlus 5 was inspired by former NBA player Robert Horry's jersey number. OnePlus employees are considered fans of the former basketball player.

The release date of the phone is also confirmed and it is going to be released this year. OnePlus 5 will be coming this summer according to Gadgets 360. It was after an online retail site was found to have listed OnePlus 5 and its price and release date were leaked.

The said phone was listed with June availability. It will be released earlier than Apple's iPhone 8 which was rumored to come until 2019. Samsung Note 8 is expected to be released on later a month, September this year. There is a chance that it will clash with Nokia's comeback phone, the Nokia 6.

OnePlus 5 is expected to be as successful as its predecessors. It is rumored to house a Snapdragon 835 processor. The phone is rumored to have a 5.5-inch display with 1080p or 2K resolution. The camera is rumored to be beastly, with a 16MP dual rear camera.
