ABC has given the green light for Season 2 ahead of next week's "Designated Survivor" Season 1 Finale. In Episode 21, "Brace for Impact," Agent Hannah Wells finally catches up to Lozano during a nationwide manhunt.

According to TV Guide, the show will remain on the network's Wednesday timeslot following its renewal on Thursday. ABC has given the show a second chance, given that it remained on the Top 10 for both total audience and ratings. However, the network has yet to confirm if "Designated Survivor" Season 2 gets a full season (21 or 23 episodes).

The Season 2 announcement comes ahead of the "Designated Survivor" Season 1 Finale, which airs on May 17. In this episode titled "Brace for Impact," the FBI and the White House are on alert for the final attack. President Kirkman has a lot on his plate, but the safety of his country and the American people come first. He will not allow any another attack to take place following the tragic Capitol bombing.

According to the synopsis from Blasting News, in the "Designated Survivor" Season 1 Finale Kirkman authorizes a nationwide manhunt to catch the mastermind. Agent Hannah Wells appears to lead this mission and she vows to catch Lozano and make him pay.

Likewise, the synopsis revealed that Agent Wells will be forced to put an end to the conspiracy surrounding the Capitol bombing. Does this mean she takes matters into her own hands? The promo for the "Designated Survivor" Season 1 Finale seems to hint this. The preview shows her catch up to Lozano during the manhunt and they exchange a few blows.

Will Agent Wells succeed in taking down Lozano? Will she kill him or let the authorities deal with him? There is a lot at stake in the "Designated Survivor" Season 1 Finale, including Kirkman's presidency. How will he deal with Abe's expose on the Capitol bombing? The season finale likely ends in a cliffhanger that will open the storyline for Season 2.
