"Stranger Things" Season 2 will focus on Will Byers and the effects his stay on the Upside Down has on him. The installment will also explore the Upside Down.

Will Byers' (Noah Schnapp) time in Season 1 was limited given that he went missing. Instead, the first season focused on his search. This time though, in "Stranger Things" Season 2 the story will shift focus on his welfare following his stay on the Upside Down.

The show's co-creator Matt Duffer has since revealed that "Stranger Things" Season 2 will explore Will's well-being after his experience in the dark place. Following his rescue, Will returns home safe but he is not exactly himself. He is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and seeing things. The trailer for the installment teased that he still sees the Upside Down.

Likewise, director Shawn Levy confirmed that Will Byers is the focus of the story in "Stranger Things" Season 2. "Will Byers is very much at the center of season two. We knew he had it in him (Schnapp), and it's really now to get in that moment, and put him firmly in the thick of story," Levy told Mashable.

According to The Express, "Stranger Things" Season 2 will deal greatly on how Will Byers faces the trauma of being trapped in the Upside Down. It will also reveal the story behind that slug he vomited in the Season 1 cliffhanger. Speculations are rife that he is hosting a spawn of the Demogorgon inside his body.

Suffice to say, "Stranger Things" Season 2 will focus on Will Byers and the Upside Down. The show's musical composer Kyle Dixon said that the installment will introduce new characters from the dark dimension. He added that the Upside Down "will be more of a place" that viewers will spend more time in.
