The fourth season of “Chicago P.D.” had its epic finale last Wednesday night after NBC announced its renewal a week before. Based on the episode, it remains to be seen whether Sophia Bush will be coming back to the show next season. Her character Lindsay was stripped off her badge but was offered by the FBI to work for them. While all of these life-altering moments were going on, Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) chose that moment to give Lindsay a call to propose to her.

Lindsay was quite unapologetic during the review for her misconduct in saving a child at the start of the “Chicago P.D.” season finale. Pending final board determination, she was stripped off her badge reports TVLine. Things will only get worse when she learns that her mom Bunny (Markie Post) is in trouble. She found her convicted felon boyfriend shot dead when she came home.

Voight (Jason Beghe) gathered information about Bunny’s case which he handed over to the FBI in the same “Chicago P.D.” episode. Bunny was taken into their custody and it turned out that the FBI had long been eyeing Lindsay to work for them. They offered her a job working for the counter-terrorism unit in New York. An agent advised her to take the job so she could save her mom. Lindsay decided to accept the offer but only if Bunny was released according to Cartermatt.

The surprise in the “Chicago P.D.” episode was that Voight discovered that Bunny was her boyfriend’s real killer. He also tossed out the incriminating evidence after he explained to Bunny that nobody knows but him. But, Voight warned, “The second you put [Lindsay] in jeopardy, I’m coming after you.”

The biggest surprise however, was Halstead’s plan to propose to Lindsay. It was a long anticipated moment by “Chicago P.D.” fans and it’s frustrating for many that Halstead’s timing couldn’t be worse. With so much going on in her life, it is understandable that she ignored his call.

All things point to Lindsay not returning in the next season of “Chicago P.D.” although she hasn’t formally accepted the FBI offer and the final determination of the board is still to come. Will learning that Halstead was about to propose to her make her make up her mind? Tell us what you think in the section below.
