A new report reveals that the new iPhone 8 will cost $1,000. It is said to be Apple’s 10th anniversary iPhone release and with its tag price, it easily becomes the most expensive among the handsets the company has produced. The newest version of the iPhone boasts of cutting-edge features like an edge-to-edge OLED display and a 3D sensor.

Although a price of $1,000 for an iPhone may seem outrageous, it only costs slightly more than the 256GB version of the iPhone 7 Plus which costs $969 (£919). The iPhone 8, however, will definitely have more features as it is rumored that new technology will be used in the device. It is reported to look “something like a smooth black monolith” which has few visual interruptions in its sleek design.

There reports that say that Apple’s anniversary phone will supposedly be called iPhone X and not the iPhone 8 reports Express UK. This could be in reference to the iPhone’s 10th year anniversary. Meanwhile, Apple is said to be launching two other versions of its flagship smartphone along with the iPhone 8. They are the 4.7 inch, to be called the iPhone 7s, and the 5.5 inch version, the iPhone 7s Plus. Both models will both be equipped with the dual-lens camera already used in the iPhone 7 Plus.

According to rumors floating around the internet, Apple will do away with the aluminum black cover and in its place will be a stainless steel forging process that brings together two reinforced glass panels supported by a metal frame. A Mail Onlne report disclosed that Apple has been working to physically remove the home button and transform it into a touch button. Apple is likely pushing this technology into the iPhone 8.

Another feature that causes iPhone 8 to cost more is its 3D-sensing technology. It is not yet clear, though, how this was incorporated in the new device. This could be used for identifying the user’s phase and augmented reality applications according to a source. The latest iPhone certainly will not fail to impress anyone but, would you be willing to shell out your $1,000 for it? Share your thoughts in the section below.
