Adult Swim has yet to give an update on the release date of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 2, although there have been several speculations on when the show returns. Likewise, fans have come up with various theories on what happens in the installment, including the return of Evil Morty.

"Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 2 is confirmed to air Summer 2017 although there is no specific release date yet. The episode, titled "Rickmancing the Stone," could arrive sometime between June and August. Fans speculate the show returns in July although there are some who wish for it to come sooner, possibly in June. Perhaps the episode will come as a surprise, much like what happened with the premiere when showrunner Dan Harmon released it on April Fools Day.

Meanwhile, several plot theories have surfaced ahead of the release of "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 2. Among them is the return of Evil Morty, which according to iDigital Times fans have wanted to happen. Series co-creator Justin Roiland may have also teased the character's appearance on his Twitter.

Roiland shared a concept art (see below) that shows Rick with three versions of Morty. He confirmed the art is for the new season and labeled it as "sneak preview." The Morty sitting on the ground has that sinister look on his face, which is telling of Evil Morty's appearance. The only difference is that he does not have the character's trademark eye patch. It remains unclear though if this art is for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 2.

However, it is likely that Evil Morty appears in "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 2 following that tease in the premiere. According to Den of Geek, fans may see Morty turn against his grandfather after the latter confirmed that he planned Jerry and Beth's divorce. A conflict could trigger the good Morty to turn into the Evil Morty.

Regardless, plot details for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 Episode 2 remain unknown. The common notion is that the episode could see the titular characters go on a jungle adventure to rescue Summer, much like the storyline in the movie "Romancing the Stone."
