Eric Avery, Nine Inch Nails bassist, who was announced to be rejoining the reformed band earlier this year, said in a statement on Facebook, that he is pulling out from the project due to feeling 'overwhelmed,' and a replacement will need to be found.

Producer, Trent Reznor, who rebooted and reformed Nine Inch Nails in February, plans to send them on a 2013-2014 tour and will need to find a replacement bassist before that time, the Hollywood Reporter writes.  He had announced that the live line-up would include Avery, King Crimson's Adrian Belew, Telefon Tel Aviv's Josh Eustis, Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin.

The tour was set to begin this summer, All Media NY reports.  Reznor has not yet announced a replacement bassist, but he has a fair bit of time before the Nails' next show, which is scheduled for July 26, during the Fuji Rock Festival, in Japan.

"It's with very mixed emotions I tell you all that I'm pulling out of NIN," Avery wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hollywood Reporter.  "I know. It's been a tough call and I don't know if it's the right one. But I really want to focus on my musical life here in L.A., on film work in particular. As the tour dates kept growing... I just got overwhelmed. I just got home from a year of heavy travel with Garbage, the idea of leaving town for another year and a half, and with all the intensity that nails demands... fortunately my friend Trent understands all this and appreciated my pulling the plug now instead of deep into 2013 and 14. Go get 'em gentlemen."

Avery toured with the rock band, 'Garbage,' last year and, as the co-founder of 'Jane's Addiction,' he also rejoined the that band for its 2008 reunion tour, only to leave again in 2010, according to All Media NY.

This tour would have been the first time that Nine Inch Nails had performed together since 2009, the Examiner reports.

Nine Inch Nails began rehearsals for their summer shows earlier this month and they are currently scheduled to headline Outside Lands, the Voodoo Music + Art Experience, the Made in America festival and Lollapalooza among their other festival dates around the world, Loudwire.com reports.  The band is not set to perform in the U.S. until starting in August, according to All Media NY.
