The stars were out in Las Vegas over the weekend to celebrate the grand opening of "Michael Jackson ONE," the new performance based on the pop star's life being put on by Cirque de Soleil.

Among the celebrities present for the debut performance were Justin Bieber, "How I Met Your Mother" actor Neil Patrick Harris and "The West Wing" actress Allison Janney. The Jackson family was also represented, including Michael's mother Katherine, who reportedly shed tears during the performance, and his two sons, Prince Michael and Blanket. Prince brought a date, Kuwaiti real-life-princess Remi Alfalah. Daughter Paris was unable to attend, as she's still undergoing treatment at the UCLA Medical Center following her suicide scare early in June.

Depending on who you ask, there was one additional celebrity present, both literally and metaphorically in spirit: Michael himself.

"I have sensed from the very beginning that Michael has been with me all along. I am not just the story creator and director, but I am the co-director with Michael," said Jamie King, the writer and director of "ONE."

King said that he felt as if Jackson were guiding his actions to make sure everything went right. It kind of makes sense, considering Jackson's obsession with perfection.

"My intention from the very beginning was to create a show that Michael would have wanted to create himself, so I do not do that alone," he said. "I didn't make one decision that I felt Michael wouldn't have wanted. I almost get a nod that something is on the right track. It feels right."

Before you roll your eyes, King wasn't the only one getting a vibe from Michael. Sound designer Jonathan Deans also reports odd sensations.

"His presence is definitely here. You close your eyes and he's in the room. Hopefully he will be sitting here saying, 'This is great'," Deans said.

It's not the first time Michael's spirit has made an appearance in headlines during the past month. Lionel Richie's ex-wife testified during the Jackson family's $40 billion lawsuit against AEG Live that she had been visited by Michael's ghost, who informed her that he was responsible for taking too much medication, and not Conrad Murray, the doctor convicted for manslaughter. The judge allowed the testimony to stand.
