Paris Jackson Suicide Attempt Update: Utah Rehab Facility Rejects Michael Jackson's Daughter
Sources have indicated to TMZ that Paris Jackson, the daughter of father Michael Jackson, has been rejected for transfer to a rehabilitation center in Utah. Paris is currently undergoing treatment at the UCLA Medical Center following a suicide attempt in early June.
According to TMZ's source, the doctors agree that Paris isn't ready to go home to the Jackson family residence in Calabasas, CA, and that she still poses a threat to herself if released. Debbie Rowe, the teen's birthmother, has been keeping an eye on the girl during her stay at UCLA and she shares the same conclusions as the doctors. However the mother is also looking for treatment alternatives outside of California to get Paris away from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles.
The source indicated that Rowe had found what she believed to be an ideal facility located somewhere in Utah, but that the rehabilitation center turned down Paris's application for transfer. In a somewhat sad and ironic twist, the facility was concerned that Paris's presence would attract paparazzi to the facility, potentially upsetting the girl further and perhaps violating the privacy of other patients by taking photos. This, unfortunately, seems like a reasonable complaint.
Media attention and the outside world are among numerous theories as to why Jackson cut her wrists and took more than 20 Motrin last month. Paris has been under understandable levels of stress considering her family's $40 billion lawsuit against concert promoter AEG Live. Sources have also indicated that Paris had an unhealthy relationship with Facebook, as she was constantly exposed to the the comments of trolls who took up beefs with her father on her. There were also rumors that Paris wasn't gelling with her legal guardian, grandmother Katherine Jackson. Rowe stepped in last month, offering to fill the role of guardian if a judge ordered it or if Paris requested it.
