The long-awaited third studio album from pop megastar Lady Gaga, ARTPOP finally has a release date. On her official Facebook page early this morning, Gaga announced that ARTPOP and a mobile app to go along with the project will be released on Nov. 11.  It will be available for preorder on Sept. 1. A single is set to precede the release of ARTPOP and drop Aug. 19.

Much like Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail, the release of ARTPOP is tied in with an app. However, this mobile platform will be released simultaneously with the album. Created by TechHAUS, a technical branch of Gaga's Haus Of Gaga brand, the app seems to bring fans together.

According to the Facebook post, the app will let users "share in the 'adrenaline of fame' as they build and share their own projects, chat with one another, and watch in real-time on a virtual globe as ARTPOP explodes onto the physical and virtual universe at once."

Though the majority of the announcement seemed to focus on the yet-to-be-titled mobile app, the new album from Lady Gaga was given the final word. Little is known about what direction Gaga is expected to take on ARTPOP, and the announcement left her Little Monsters with very little.

The release teases that ARTPOP will take a heavily electronic direction and that it will be full of "passion and fury."

However, like the album title suggests, artists and fashion designers inspired Gaga for the new release. She name checks designers Inez & Vinoodh, avant-garde artist Robert Wilson, performance artists Marina Abramovic and sculptor Jeff Koons. The four will be a part of her album release party on Nov. 10.
