Homeland Season 3 Spoilers: Mysterious Numbers Play Key Role in Season 3 Premiere

When the Showtime hit "Homeland" returns in late September, three numbers will play a big part in the Season 3 premiere.

Michael Ausiello at TVLine reports in this week's "Ask Ausiello" column that these three numbers would be mentioned numerous times in the first two episodes of Season 3:

"Question: So I spent my weekend watching Homeland, from pilot through Season 2. I'll say this as kindly as I know how... GIMME SPOILERS. Please and thank you with a Snapple-sized Smurf on top! -Paige

Ausiello: Let's play a game. I'll throw some literal data your way from the first two episodes (both of which I've seen and thoroughly enjoyed) and you have to decipher the meaning. All of the following figures are referenced multiple times throughout the first two hours. Ready, set, translate:

* 219 People
* 14 hours
* 6 miles"

The 219 people could refer to the number of people killed in the CIA bombing from the Season 2 finale. The 14 hours and six miles are a bit more difficult to decipher.

As Mstars previously reported, Claire Danes' Carrie Mathison will be off her medication at the start of Season 3 but will attempt to reconnect with her allies at the CIA.

Damien Lewis' Nicholas Brody is "on the lam" and will be in an interesting state when he returns to the action.
