Man of Steel 2 Casting Rumors: Orlando Bloom Batman in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel Sequel Batman vs. Superman Movie?
More names connected to the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the 2015 Man of Steel sequel (commonly known as Batman vs. Superman or just the Batman/Superman movie) continue to circulate around the Internet, and one more name has been added to the rumor mill.
The U.K. site Express reports that 36-year-old Orlando Bloom is the favorite to get the part opposite Henry Cavill as Superman, according to a source at Warner Bros.
"Orlando looks odds-on to get the part even before our first casting call," the source says. "He would be perfect to play off Henry and I think U.S. audiences would be happy with two Brits as the joint male leads."
The news is part of an article in which Express touts the success of British actors as American superheroes (Cavill as Superman, Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, etc.).
As MStars previously reported, the site Think McFly Think reports that another name has entered the mix: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known for his work on the "Supernatural" and "Grey's Anatomy" television shows and in the superhero film Watchmen.
The site reports that Morgan has taken a meeting with director Zack Snyder for the role of Batman. The two men worked together in the past on Watchmen, in which Morgan played The Comedian.
The Hollywood Reporter may also have shed some light on the part, as the site reports that 46-year-old Josh Brolin and 32-year-old Ryan Gosling are the lead candidates to play Batman.
Other names mentioned on the list include Joe Manganiello (Alcide from "True Blood"), Richard Armitage (Thorin from The Hobbit), Max Martini (Pacific Rim) and Matthew Goode (Ozymandias from Watchmen).
