Eminem Tour 2013: Over 60 Fans Arrested for Drug/Disorderly Offenses, Assault at Ireland Concert, Shady Performs New Song 'Survival' Amidst New Album Release Date Rumors [VIDEO]
Reports confirm that over 60 Eminem fans were arrested during Slim Shady's concert in Slane, Ireland on Saturday (August 17). According to the Press Association, 22 people were allegedly arrested for committing "public order offenses" and 35 concertgoers were arrested for crimes including drug possession and assault (among others). Nonetheless, authorities confirm that overall, the rambunctious crowd was "well behaved" (considering the size of the event).
Approximately 80,000 fans attended the Eminem concert at County Meath's Slane Castle on Saturday. Security for the event included over 500 local stewards and 750 officers. Superintendent Michael Devine confirms that "the vast majority of fans headed the advice given in advance of the event." Security was very tight and efficient.
According to MTV UK, a spokesperson for the Gardaí (the Irish police force) insists that the number of arrests was "very much in line" with events of such a large scale.
Just last week, Eminem released the FIRST new song of off his highly-anticipated upcoming album. The high-energy track entitled "Survival" is featured in the video game trailer for "Call of Duty: Ghosts" -
Shady pumped-up the Ireland crowd with a performance of "Survival." Altogether he performed 22 songs, ending with the "8 Mile" classic "Lose Yourself."
An official release date for the Detroit rapper's eighth studio record still remains unconfirmed, but the new album will definitely hit stores something this fall.
