The reign of Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" on top of the Billboard Hot 100 is finally over. The genre-bending, controversial song spent 12 weeks at No. 1, but now falls to No. 2. The song that has finally done what Miley Cyrus, Daft Punk and One Direction could not do? Katy Perry's "Roar."

Yes, Perry's eighth No. 1 hit is "Roar," the lead single from her upcoming third studio album "Prism." Due to a bump in sales from the VMAs and a gain in radio play, Perry can count another top song into her repertoire. Perry's first No. 1 single was in 2008 with "I Kissed A Girl." She then followed that No. 1 with "Teenage Dream" singles: "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Firework," "E.T.," "Last Friday Night" and "Part of Me."

As mentioned, Thicke fell to No. 2 on the Hot 100, despite his controversial performance with Miley Cyrus at the VMAs. "We Can't Stop" also fell one chart position to No. 4, due to a new single from an old music favorite.

Eminem's new single from "MMLP2," "Berzerk" vaulted into the Hot 100, debuting at No. 3. "Berzerk," which was first teased in a Beats by Dr. Dre commercial during the VMAs, debuted on Aug. 26 to radio and has had massive success since then, reportedly selling over 300,000 copies in its first week.

The final song in the top 10 also got some attention at the VMAs. Lady Gaga's "Applause" falls one spot to No. 5 this week, misplaced by Eminem, much like Cyrus.

Nos. 6 and 7 are familiar fare, Jay Z and Justin Timberlake's "Holy Grail," which got an official visual last week, holds at 6. Avicii's "Wake Me Up" holds at No. 7 for yet another week.

Besides Eminem, the other newcomer to the top 10, Lorde, arrives at No. 8 with her critically-acclaimed alternative rock song "Royals." The simple beat and relatable lyrics have led to the 16-year-old's massive success.

The top 10 is rounded out by Imagine Dragon's "Radioactive" at No. 9 and Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness" at No. 10.
