Ariana Grande on Vocal Rest Following 'Yours Truly' Release Party, Live Shows: 'The Way' Singer Ordered Not to Sing/Speak for Four Days, Cancels Talk Show Appearances to Promote New Album

It seems as though "The Way" singer Ariana Grande should be having the best week ever. Her stellar debut album "Yours Truly" did debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, after all. Unfortunately, it seems as though Grande may have celebrated a bit too hard. After a string of promotional appearances and a big release party, the Nickelodeon star has strained her vocal chords and is under doctor's orders not to talk or sing for four days.

According to TMZ, Grande's performance at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Monday (which was attended by her ex-boyfriend Jai Brooks) was too much for her voice, and she strained her vocal chords.

This isn't all speculation, either. Grande addressed her vocal issues on her Twitter account yesterday (Sept. 11), and it seems as though she's taking it all in good spirit.

"First day off in forever... Vocal rest and watching movies in with my best friend @alexaluria dunno what I'd do without her," she wrote. "Thank you guys for the well wishes, I'll be better in no time.. just need some rest."

Grande also gave her own explanation for her strained vocal chords. "For those of u asking about my voice I screamed too much at my party totally irresponsible but it's better now, thanks for the well wishes."

Grande has had to cancel talk show appearances on "The Queen Latifah Show" and "The Arsenio Hall Show." She's also had to back out of several radio appearances.

Luckily, the momentum from her strong debut and critical acclaim should help carry her blossoming career. Grande also debuted the music video for second "Yours Truly" single, "Baby I" on Sept. 6.
