Kanye West 'Gone' Breaks Into Billboard Top 20 Eight Years After 'Late Registration' Release

If you thought a viral hit by a trapstep also-ran was the only chart wonkery that would stem from Billboard's revised ranking rules, we have some news for you.

Kanye West has broken into the Top 20 singles list. That shouldn't be a big deal, he released Yeezus earlier this year and he is "the biggest rock star on the planet." Here's the kicker: Yeezy charted with "Gone", an eight-year-old, Cam'ron featuring track off Late Registration.

Pink Polo Kanye is back! As much as I would like to think this is the result of an orchestrated revolt against the increasingly alienating nature of late-stage Mr. West, it's actually due to a viral video that happens to feature the track.

Maria Shifrin quit her song via an interpretive dance video set to the track that has caught fire on Youtube. The video's 15 million plus views have pushed the Late Registration track up to number 18 on the charts.

Whatever, I take my victories where I can. PINK POLO FER LYFE! *Rides off into sunset to "Two Words"*
