Will Ferrell and the other cast members performed a live reading of 2004's Anchorman at Santa Monica's Broad Stage on Thursday to benefit 826LA, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center.

Beyond the beloved cast members, including Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, David Koechner and Christina Applegate, some other stars with minor roles showed up. People like Jack Black, Chris Parnell, Danny Trejo, Fred Willard, Fred Armisen and even Maya Rudolph voicing any non-Veronica lady roles. Director and writer Adam McKay read all the stage cues. Conan O'Brien hosted the event and read aloud the Vince Vaughn's part in his place.

"Only in L.A. do they do charity readings of screenplays," O'Brien said. "If you have hard candy, unwrap it now - and stick it up your ass." The crowd reacted to O'Brien's harsh words. He responded, "There are no kids here. Who would bring children to a benefit for children?"

In addition to the reading there was some music. Armisen performed a couple songs, Rudolph and Black shared their vocal stylings, using only their voices for a bass duo, and the Channel 4 News team sang their famous rendition of "Afternoon Delight."

Producer Judd Apatow has been a supporter of 826LA for a while and helped organize the reading. He told Entertainment Weekly, "When we were in pre-production on Anchorman 2, it occurred to us that if we just read Anchorman out loud, maybe people would show up and it would be a fun, easy way to raise money for the tutoring center, and everyone was nice enough to agree to do it."

The star-studded event raised $350,000 for the nonprofit.
