Rick Ross makes boss move, delays forthcoming album
The boss has spoken and it looks like fans of Rick Ross are gonna have to hold off a little while longer for his "Mastermind" album.
The MMG leader recently phoned in to DJ Scream's Hoodrich Radio show on Hip-Hop Nation to discuss the album when he made the revelation. During the interview Ross said:
"I'm still putting the final touches on the album. You know me, making that classic is more important than anything. Making sure the streets are overwhelmed with what I am doing is what is most important. I'm gonna try to get it to you, and if I don't, I'll get it to you ASAP."
"Mastermind" will be his sixth studio effort. His last album "God Forgives, I Don't" was his fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the album sold 218,000 units.
"God Forgives, I Don't" gave Ross his best sales week. His second album "Trilla" opened at No. 1 back in 2008, selling 198,000 units. Ross has previously led the chart with with 2006's "Port of Miami," "Trilla" and 2009's "Deeper Than Rap."
Believe it or not, Ross has more No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 than Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg.
But this isn't the only boss move Rozay has made lately. He recently signed Tracy T and Fat Trel under his MMG imprint.
In the meantime, "Mastermind" has been delayed to 2014 after being slated to drop Dec. 17. This may just very well be Rick Ross' best-selling album.
