Best Celebrity Instagrams of the Week: North West eyebrow controversy, Taylor Swift celebrates Christmas and Nicki Minaj shows off her booty [PHOTOS]

The world of celebrity Instagram posts truck on, as the world gets even closer and closer to the Christmas season. This week, however, is a mixed bag on the social networking site, with a little bit of controversy courtesy of Kim Kardashian, James Franco petitioning hard to get an Oscar nod for his performance in Spring Breakers and Nicki Minaj doing what she does best on Instagram: showing off her booty and boobs.

Let's check out the best of what the site had to offer in the world of celebrity this week:

To kick things off, Instagram got a fair share of controversy this week when Kim Kardashian posted a super smiley, adorable picture of her daughter North West. The baby's impeccable eyebrows led to some fans and detractors on the Internet calling the reality star out for plucking her baby's brows, even though she's less than six months old! Kardashian quickly took to Twitter to deny the claims, joking that one should not start shaping her brows until AT LEAST two years old. Gotta love that wit and Kim for standing up for her perfect little baby.

In a little more lighthearted Instagram news, few celebs are more amusing to follow than actor/director/writer/comedian/everything James Franco. This year, he's been pushing hard for voters to consider his portrayal as Alien in the super sexy movie Spring Breakers for an Oscar. The whole thing is pretty amusing to watch, and lately Franco has been pointing out when he appears on best-of lists. Short lists for Oscar noms haven't been announced yet, so only time will tell if Franco gets his wish.

Some people have already won in life. This week, Jamaican crooner Tessanne Chin won the latest season of The Voice, and after a whirlwind three days, she took to Instagram to thank all those who helped her to win.

And other singing competitions are similarly wrapping up. X Factor judge Demi Lovato posted a pic of herself and her two female judge counterparts during her final episode of the Fox reality competition. And of course, all three ladies are looking as stunning as ever.

Lovato isn't the only one hard at work. Britney Spears posted a pic of herself in bed working on new music the old fashioned way: with paper and pen. The "Perfume" singer also is looking as fresh-faced and simply pretty as ever in this cozy image.

And Justin Bieber worked the red carpet at the premiere of his second concert documentary Believe alongside manager Scooter Braun and mentor Usher.

Not everything is serious work though. Instagram is the major platform for the selfie, which Nicki Minaj works all too well. This week, like most weeks, the rapper showed off her super derriere in a sexy black outfit.

Meanwhile, fellow R&B star Rihanna celebrated the holidays with a sparkly Christmas sign around her neck and reindeer antlers on her head. A festive glass full of wine completes the outfit, making for a Christmas celebration we all like to partake in.

Taylor Swift also celebrated the holidays with a friend, and the two baked up a storm and showed off the goods on Instagram.

And finally, Mindy Kaling bragged about something else we all love doing during this time of year: shopping for small children. The Mindy Project star showed off an arrangement of Barbies that would make any girl jealous, regardless of age.
