LucasFilm hires 'Star Wars' Story Group to determine 'Episode 7,' spinoffs, & Expanded Universe hierarchy of storylines, plots, canon, etc.

Lucasfilm has officially hired a Story Group to come up with a secure canon for the upcoming Star Wars movies and the Expanded Universe. What this means for those not familiar with the entire Star Wars universe is that this group of writers will attempt to bridge the gap between books, comics, movies, and all other forms of Star Wars media ensuring a cohesive storyline throughout.

This news broke on Twitter when Lucasfilm's Leland Chee announced he and Pablo Hidalgo were part of the Story Group. Check out Chee's Twitter announcement and his answers to some tweets right here:

This might not be that exciting to those not interested in canon, but this might have a huge affect on the upcomming Star Wars: Episode VII coming out in 2015. Now the Expanded Universe could play a part in the plot even though earlier reports suggested it wouldn't!
