Astro releases new track 'Sound Boy Burial'

It takes a lot of confidence to name a song "Sound Boy Burial" in 2014. You're referencing one of the best Brooklyn rap songs of all time right there in the title and nothing less than the absolute best will be acceptable. Though Astro doesn't quite bring it on the same level as Smif-N-Wessun (or even Jay Z), he holds his own well enough not to get laughed out of the room.

Astro manages to jump on a Platinum Pat beat (made from Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man") and kick an old-school NY-centric vibe without getting crushed under his own classic references like Joey Bada$$. Overall, "Sound Boy" has me excited to hear the rest of Astro's upcoming EP,

What do you think of "Sound Boy Burial"?

Sound off in the comments.
