This weekend might include the biggest sporting event in the country (the Super Bowl, duh) but we shouldn't forget about some brand new movie premieres. Movies hitting theaters this week include That Awkward Moment, California Scheming, Labor Day and more! Let's take a look at the movies hitting the big screen this week.

That Awkward Moment brings young Hollywood hunk Zac Efron together with two of the fastest rising stars in the industry: Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller. Though the film is a bit goofy, there's plenty of heart behind all of the crude humor and laughs.

Check out more on this film, including a trailer, right here!

One film that might have slipped under your radar is California Scheming. Set in the Malibu, three teens meet up with a new girl named Chloe who then introduces them to a different side of the world filled with drugs and crime. Yes, we included this movie on the list as kind of a joke, but that doesn't mean you won't enjoy the weird trailer!

Jason Reitman is an acclaimed director, known mostly for his dramatic comedies like JunoUp in the Air, and Thank You for Smoking. In his latest film, Labor Day, he drops the jokes and focuses on the drama. Starring Josh Brolin and Kate Winslet, Labor Day is looking like one of the year's best films.

Also coming out this week are all of the short films nominated for this year's Academy Awards. To read more about each film, head over to Variety!
