According to a new rumor based off of an alleged leaked script, Matt Smith could have a special cameo in the first episode of the eighth season of Doctor Who. This would be Peter Capaldi's first episode as the 12th regeneration of the Doctor after replacing Smith, but it looks like we might get another chance to say good-bye to 11!

Bleeding Cool is saying that Smith's Doctor will be calling his final companion Clara Oswald, who is currently dealing with the new Doctor, to reassure her of his new form. According to the website, this is how the phone call will go:

Clara: What do you mean "it's the Doctor?"

11th Doctor: I'm phoning you from Trenzalore [where he protected the town of Christmas up to his death/regeneration].

Clara: I don't understand.

11th Doctor: From the past. From before I changed. It's all still to happen for me. It's coming though, not long now, I can feel it.

Clara: But.. why would you do this?

The conversation progresses into 11 convincing Clara to trust and help the new Doctor, explaining "he'll need you." Then the scene continues:

The 12th Doctor: So who is it?

The 11th and 12th Doctors at the same time: Oh, is that the Doctor?

At this, Clara hugs Capaldi's Doctor.

Do you think that this scene will actually take place in the newest episode of Doctor Who? It definitely makes sense, though, in the past, companions dealing with a new Doctor had to develop trust and love for him without the help of the familiar Doctor.

What do you think of this rumor?
