Ralph Lauren stands by a philosophy in his designs.  Lauren said, "I have always had a clear vision. I wanted to develop quality products and create a whole world around that. It means taking risks, going with what you feel, but never losing sight of your vision and conviction."  

A household name in the world of fashion, Lauren has become a cultural icon through building a multibillion-dollar fashion empire.  According to MBFW, Lauren is the only designer to receive the Council of Fashion Designers of America's (CFDA) four highest honors - the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award, the Menswear Designer of the Year Award, the Retailer of the Year Award, as well as the CFDA's Humanitarian Leadership Award.  

Not only is Ralph Lauren world-renowned for his designs, he also is heavily involved in philanthropy.  In April 2001, he founded the Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation.  The organization supports initiatives in cancer care, education and service in under-served communities.
