At long last it's All-Star weekend in the NBA. A sentiment that is often shared by the staff, players and the fans, for a variety of reasons. Some want to get away from the sport for a short while, but others want to enjoy every bit of the fun, relaxing environment that is the All-Star weekend. The LA Lakers welcomed a sellout crowd for this entertaining game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Sadly, this is as good as it got for the Lakers, who suffered a record-setting seventh straight home defeat with the Thunder winning 107-103.

It's been a miserable season for the Lakers and a great one for the Thunder, and this game was no different. Kevin Durant was on fire, scoring 43 points overall, with 19 coming in the fourth quarter, proving he be can be one of the NBA's most reliable superstars. Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks told CNNSI "The easy thing to do is look at it like we didn't have the proper focus. But I'm not going to go there - because when you play against an NBA team that's prideful like the Lakers, they're going to have a good game,''

It appears that Brooks sends his players out to respect each and every NBA player for what they are, a quaility, capable basketball player. It must be working as his Thunder team are one game and a half ahead of the Indiana Pacers for the NBA's top record. They are 43-12 and now their players will enjoy the All-Star break for different reasons, with Kevin Durant hoping to be the star of the All-Star game come Sunday.
