Darren Sharper 2 counts rape charge with drugs, Gabrielle Union's ex-NFL boyfriend facing felonies, Sharper used Ambien with victims?

NFL star and (Gabrielle Union's ex), Darren Sharper has been charged for two counts of rape and will be arraigned in a Los Angeles court room today.

The former New Orleans Saints athlete was arrested January 17, 2013 for "being linked to two sexual assaults in west Los Angeles," in October 2013 and January 2014 according to HipHollywood.com.

 The 38-year-old posted $200,000 bail and is expected to appear in court today. According to LA Times, Los Angeles prosecutors are expected to increase bail to $10 million because he is suspected of raping women in four states: California, Arizona, Nevada and Louisiana.

Friday, Sharper entered the L.A. courtroom around 8:30 a.m. and left almost 20 minutes later without his case being called before the judge.

Sharper had been accused of obtaining morphine and zolpidem (aka Ambien) and charged with two counts of rape by drugs, four counts of furnishing a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

All charges are felonies and could land the former athlete in prison for a long time if found guilty. NFL Network suspended Sharper without pay since his arrest, a spokeswoman said, according to NOLA.com.
