Manchester City and Barcelona in Fine Form, But Which Will Win Upcoming Battle?
Barcelona have won it all, and Manchester City want to win it all. With that in mind it will be interesting as two of Europe's biggest soccer teams go toe-to-toe this week. Barcelona may be ageing, but they have all of the experience required to do the required damage to win, but Manchester City have the sense of fresh hunger that a team of Barcelona's stature can no longer have, even if their desire to win is still high.
Barcelona will be the slight favourites and with the fierce duo of Lionel Messi and Neymar to spur them on, why wouldn't you back them? However, City have players like Yaya Toure and Alvaro Negredo, who could both torment Barcelona's back four. It's a tough game to analyse before we've seen them play one another. After this week's clash they will learn a lot about one another and then they will face in the second leg of the fixture a few weeks later. The first game should be full of pure excitement as both teams look to figure one another out, but the second will see both teams trying to attack each others weaknesses.
In the build up to a game of this titanic proportion you can usually get a sense of who's feeling more confident in the game prior, but with Manchester City dominated Chelsea and Barcelona destroying Rayo Vallecano, there really is no clear indication to which way this game will go.
There's still 180 minutes of soccer to play minimum, meaning anything is possible between these two teams, but what we do know is the world will be watching when they face off this week.
