'Pushing Daisies' is coming back as a movie or musical

Pushing Daisies is already considered a cult-classic comedy series that was canceled far too soon, but fans might be in for a sweet treat if new rumors are true. According to new reports, the Bryan Fuller-created series could be returning in the form of a movie or a stage musical. Both possibilities are currently being worked around, so we just have to wait and see what happens next.

The Huffington Post reports:

Bryan Fuller, the creator of the beloved detective series, mentioned that he met with Barry Sonnenfeld (who won an Emmy for directing a "Pushing Daisies" episode) about financing a film version of the show. Fuller also revealed that he had spoken with Kristin Chenoweth about developing the series as a stage musical.

Clearly Chenoweth is no stranger to musicals, so it would make a lot of sense for this option to be pursued.

"We're working on something that is definitely a Pushing Daisies revival, and the idea would be to have as many cast as we can to participate in it," Bryan Fuller said, according to Broadway World.

Pushing Daisies was always an over-the-top show, from the mind of Fuller and portrayed delightfully by the cast, so fans might be happier to see it in a newer medium as opposed to another television season or special.
