Is Los Angeles Angels' Mike Trout Set For Huge Pay Day?

There was plenty of hyper around Mike Trout when he was in the minor leagues, but nobody, not even the Los Angeles Angels themselves, believed he would become the player he did. One of the best, most complete players playing today, yet the star is still earning very little in comparison to his competitors, so it comes as no surprise that he and his team are negotiating a new contract at this present moment in time. Reports suggest the deal would be for six years, with a value of around $150 million, making him a top paid player.

It appears at the moment it's just in the early discussion stage, but it looks likely a deal will be completed, most likely before the end of Spring Training. With the Angels the owner of one of baseballs most expensive salary lists, you would expect them to try to be financially astute and get the best possible deal all round.

Trout has been a revelation, and with him signed up for near six years, you'd be sure the Angels will be a strong force to be reckoned with. If for some reason the pair couldn't agree, there are several teams out there that would sign a contract of this kind in a heartbeat, so it's easy to see why Trout is cool, calm and relaxed at the moment. He can focus on his baseball, and regardless of how, the numbers being quoted will be a formality for a player of his high standards.
