Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has no shortage of unique characters, but perhaps none tops Rocket Raccoon, a walking, talking, cybernetically-enhanced raccoon with a penchant for weapons and plenty of attitude. Bradley Cooper provides the voice of the character in the upcoming movie.

Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige said in press notes for the film (via Comic Book Movie) that it was crucial for the character to not seem cartoonish.

"We had designed the character and it looked awesome," he said. "So it really came down to see who fit the part best and it included Bradley Cooper's scenes with [Robert] DeNiro in Silver Lining Playbook. It was very cool and very real, and the fact that we actually got him to do the film is just one of those wonderful things."

Cooper added that the voiceover work was a learning experience for him but praised director James Gunn and his work.

"There's a lot of humor and a lot of heart in this movie," he said. "All the relationships are very clear and emotional and the stakes are obviously high and with the flavor of James Gunn, it has a comedic appeal to it. I think people are going to be blown away by how unique and fresh this film is."

What do you think, Marvel fans? Will Rocket Raccoon be the breakout, fan-favorite star of this movie? Or will the character be too bizarre for some moviegoers? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
